Entering its fifth year of operation, neooold exhibited at 2024 Design Shanghai from June 19th to 22nd, with an exhibition titled "Art & Extension". The name "Extension" in Chinese means to evolve, and the name itself illustrates the temporal nature of art creation - it takes a lot of energy and time to continue handcrafts and renew traditions, and any finished product is actually an "unfinished" work. The author interviewed curator Chen Min, architect Meng Fanhao, Dutch designer Aldo Bakker, Singaporean designer Hans Tan, and Japanese entrepreneur Masataka Hosoo, and in conversations with them, the vision of neooold empowering craft innovation gradually became clear.

进入第五个年头的 neooold 新开物亮相 2024 设计上海，并带来主题名为“演·艺”的展览。“演”取演进之意，标题本身点明了艺术创作的时间性——延续手作、更新传统需要大量的精力与时间的投入，任何成品实际上都是“未完成”之作。笔者采访了策展人陈旻、建筑师孟凡浩、荷兰设计师 Aldo Bakker、新加坡设计师 Hans Tan、日本企业家 Masataka Hosoo，在与他们的交谈中，neooold 赋能手工艺创新的愿景变得逐渐清晰。
