In August 2021, the author, who relocated from Beijing to Rotterdam, personally experienced the Netherlands transitioning from pandemic lockdown to the "normal life". Alongside fear and hesitation, the author documented the changes in the surrounding environment and engaged in conversations with her friends who contracted COVID-19. Faced with drastically different pandemic policies between the Netherlands and China, the author attempted to find a peaceful dialogue amid the deepening cultural rift — how can we live with the uncertainty of life with a spirit of reflection?
